St Charles Photography | Certified Professional Photographer

Karen Thaemert is a Certified Professional Photographer

So what is a CPP?

Photographers have the option through training, study and field work to prove themselves to other professional photographers and to their clients that they have achieved a level of excellence.  With the minions of beginner photographers in every town, many serious photographers have taken a step to prove that they are indeed a PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER.

I am happy to announce that my portfolio has been judged by a panel of experts and that I passed a rigorous written exam.  Having passed both phases of Certification, I can assure you, my clients and future clients that I will deliver a level of portrait excellence to you.  I will guarantee it!

After successful completion of CPP, the next step for me is Master of Photography (M.Photog).  It will take a couple of years to complete this step as it requires numerous competitions and classes.  I know that you, my clients will reap the benefits of my continued education.

As of this publishing date, I am the ONLY Certified Professional Photographer in St Charles, and one of just eleven in the St Louis Metro area (including IL), using a 50-radius of the studio.  It is quite an accomplishment and one that shows both my dedication and experience.

(EDIT 3/21/16: With the addition of one new CPP in St Charles, congratulations Joan, there are now 12 Certified Professional Photographers in the Greater St Louis area and 16 in the entire state of Missouri)

Here’s the Official Press Release:

Local Photographer Earns Certification

Karen Thaemert of K Thaemert Photography in St. Charles, MO has earned the Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) designation from the Professional Photographic Certification Commission.

Thaemert earned this designation after meeting rigorous requirements measuring her artistic and technical competence.  The professional Photographic Certification Commission currently recognizes less than 2,000 Certified Professional Photographers.

“As a professional in a growing field, I wanted to strive for excellence.  It is my goal to give my clients the absolute best product.  I want to give them a work of art, not just a snapshot.  Just as doctors and other professionals seek certification in their industries, I wanted to show my public that I care enough to be the best photographer possible for them.”  says Thaemert.

The Professional Photographic Certification Commission (www.certifiedphotographer.com) is the leading body for certifying imaging professionals.  Certified Professional Photographers must complete a written examination, finish an image evaluation and adhere to a stringent code of conduct.  Certification must be renewed on a periodic basis, ensuring continuing confidence in the professionalism of Certified Professional Photographers.
